Caramelized Pears [For French Toast]. My family loves it when I make this variation of French toast that my grandma once made for me. It's a GREAT substitute for sticky cinnamon rolls and a lot less hassle. Something like this French Toast with Caramelized Pears and Pecans.

The unused, leftover and stale bits of bread are soaked in a batter of cream and eggs, and It's a decadent recipe featuring fall pears caramelized in butter and maple syrup with toasted hazelnuts and real vanilla beans.   2. Put the sugar and butter in a frying pan and turn the heat to medium. Heat while continuously shaking the pan until the mixture has a deep brown color..

  4. Quickly cover with a lid and shake the pan well to coat the pears in caramel. Turn the heat down to low and simmer while shaking the pan occasionally until the pears are soft..
  5. When most of the liquid has disappeared and the pears are soft, it's ready..
  6. Add heavy cream to the remaining caramel in the frying pan and lightly simmer to make the caramel sauce. Use it for decoration..
